Will We Ever Learn?

When will we ever learn? At last count there are sixteen on-going armed conflicts occurring on our allegedly peaceful planet. Some conflicts are little ones, but the killing of people is never little all tears run together.  Some conflicts are big, like the lengthy and deadly wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan when so many die each day of festering political hatred, mistrust and corruption. Kruschchev then and now.

Some thoughts on how things change. When I was a teenager in the late 1950’s, there was the pervasive fear of nuclear war with the then Soviet Union. All across our nation, cities and villages designated public places as fallout shelters and stockpiled them with water and food. Civil Defense directors were appointed to oversee and plan for survival after a nuclear war.
