Catholic Taliban

First of all, full disclosure. I was raised Catholic, but I no longer participate in this dogma for many reasons. Now I have a litany of new reasons. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has arbitrarily revised its parochial teachers contract for all their teachers whether they are Catholic or not. Bachmann’s Biblical Prediction

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was a guest on a Christian  radio talk show a few days ago. She reportedly said the biblical end times are here. I didn’t think the President was angry when he responded to a follow-up question from CNN on what took him so long to publicly react to the AIG bonuses. I thought Obama was direct in his answer. He said he wanted to think about his reaction before he spoke publicly. A CNN pundit thought he was angry in that comment. I think CNN was…

The Inauguration

Some brief observations about watching the inauguration ceremonies yesterday in Washington, D.C. First of all I loved the pomp and ceremony, the traditions, the symbolism, the history and the individual performances that enhanced the event. Poetry, prayer, songs and music. For the most part I thought the networks and the cable channels did a good job of covering the event given the geographic expanse and security limitations. I do wish Wolf Blitzer of CNN would interrupt less than he does. As a long time anchor…
