Solitude

Maine- a friend’s photo

© 2012 Rolland G. Smith

Upon the beach he stands alone,

But lonely he cannot abide.

There is a space between the two,

Where mind decides the distance ‘tween.

You cannot see where his stare starts

Or where it stops within his thought.

The distance is a grain of sand

Or all the oceans of his heart.

There is a clue beyond the Sun

Behind his image on the sand.

Hold your focus a little more

And you will know that all are ONE.
